The Blackwell Center for Adolescent Treatment

Under the direction of the medical director, Blackwell Center (formerly Westmeade) provides a structured, safe and therapeutic milieu utilizing staff support for adolescents 13 - 16 years of age. There are two treatment units, one male and one female, where each treatment plan is individualized to meet each of the client’s specific needs. Services include individual, group and family therapies, therapeutic recreation, chemical dependency groups, community service and trauma based therapy.

Therapy groups cover such issues as anger management, trauma, social skills, community, adl's and both short and long term goals. Our program utilizes age-appropriate behavioral mgmt level system. This management system leads to behavior that is more stable, structured, consistent and with self-control leading to positive behavior. Additionally, this system focuses on positive praise and rewards with combined logic and non-punitive consequences and or learning experiences.
